Let's end workplace burnout and boreout for our teams.
Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a hamster wheel, working your way through a never-ending meaningless product backlog? Then you have probably experienced the combination of burnout and boreout.
I'm David Morris, delivery and change leader, and author of books on Agile Project Management, Scrum, OKRs, and AI. In my work, I am finding more and more teams who experience both overwork and a lack of purpose. I've seen some common causes mentioned in articles and posts; however, most describe these conditions as opposites, whereas I often see them happen together.
Now I'm researching this to hear from people in their own words, on the impact of experiencing burnout and boreout together, how it came about, what they did to cope, and any insights they can share. I hope you can join the conversation.
